When and where does the bootcamp take place?

The bootcamp will take place in the Aalto Design Factory in Espoo, Finland from Monday to Friday 8th-12th of November 2021. It will be five intense days starting at around 9:00 and finishing at around 19:30.

Will it be an in-person event?

If allowed, we will hold the event in-person. We will follow the regulations and general guidelines of the Finnish authorities regarding the corona situation. We are also planning for hybrid and virtual formats if need be.

How do I apply?

You can still send in an application by 17th of October 2021 by filling in the application form available here. Seats will be filled on a rolling basis.

Do I need to pay something to participate in the bootcamp?

Participation in the bootcamp is free-of-charge. You will need to organize and cover your transport and accommodation costs if you need to travel to Espoo.

Who is this bootcamp for?

This bootcamp is for people looking for new knowledge, skills, ideas and network on how to start impact-driven companies and other initiatives leveraging space and space technologies. You need to be at least 18 years-of-age and have a close connection to Finland to qualify.

What do you mean by ‘having a close connection to Finland’?

You definitely have a close connection to Finland if you live, work or study in Finland or are a Finnish citizen living abroad. You may also have other close connections, such as doing business with Finnish counterparts or plan to establish your future company in Finland. If you are not completely sure whether you qualify, just apply and we’ll look into it when reviewing the applications.

Do I need to know a lot about tech, space or business in order to apply?

No! If selected, you come to the bootcamp bringing your own special skills and knowledge, get paired up with people with other superpowers to learn and create ideas together. You’ll also learn a lot about latest tech and how it can be used to creating positive impact in the world in the sessions that are designed for people with all levels of knowledge of the topics.

I work for an existing organization and have no plans of starting my own company in the future but I’m curious how to use space and space technologies in my current position. Can I apply?

Yes, you can definitely still apply to the bootcamp. When filling in the application form, make sure to elaborate on the skills you bring in and what you wish to gain from participating.

I have an appointment during the week and would need to be away for a few hours. Can I still apply?

Yes, you can. We understand that you might have other commitments during the week. It is up to you to decide if you can participate enough if you have only a few other appointments or need to leave early a few days to pick up kids etc. However, we highly recommend you empty your calendar as much as possible for the week and be present, especially during the last two days of the bootcamp.
